Friends, have you already heard about a new cigar from the legendary Cohiba line which hit the cigar market in September, 2012? If you have not or are just thinking about purchasing one box or at least one stick to try, then let me share my recent review I did on this amazing Cuban stogie.
Please welcome the Cohiba Piramides Extra – the long-awaited Cohiba cigar, with a new size measuring about 6 5/16 inches long and 54 ring gauge. It is new because a standard Cuban piramide, the most famous among them being the Montecristo No.2, is a little thinner and shorter than the new cigar. However, it doesn’t affect its appearance or taste.

The cigar’s appearance, as I previously mentioned, is flawless, with no visible veins or any other blemishes which are inappropriate for a cigar of such level. The cigar’s band is very similar to the one on a Cohiba Behike, thus, adding more points to its classy outlook.

I could say much more about its look but I understand that you would like to hear about its tasting and flavor characteristics as well. So, to begin with, I cut the draw and felt Cohiba’s peculiar earthy scent and a cedar smell. The first puffs continued the cedar wood theme, adding a hint of spiciness to my throat.
The burn was even, I didn’t have to touch it up or improve it somehow.

After a couple of minutes of smoking the cigar, the initial spicy notes have faded away, being replaced with a sweet creamy nuances, along with nutty cereal notes.

Approaching the finish little by little, I felt the initial spicy and peppery notes which are so reminiscent of Siglo VI taste. So if you prefer these cigars, this new stogie is exactly for you!

Leaving everything apart, I must say that this is one of the best cigars I’ve ever smoked in a while, thanks to Habanos S.A., of course, and www.25cigars.com. I am sincerely thankful to them for offering me this premium Cuban cigar at a reasonable price, as well as their excellent customer service and speedy delivery!
