Crazy Canadians
Ontario has launched a tobacco display ban.
The Smoke Free Ontario Act will prevent some 10,000 stores from allowing their customers to compare cigars by holding two packages in their hands, or from browsing their tobacco collection.
Customers must buy their cigars, sight-un-seen, without smelling them, or without checking out their wrapper. Smokers will now how to choose from a book of pictures that’s hidden behind the counter (Random Fact: This was how pornography pictures were first sold in the old west.).
In regards to how outrages this is, one store owner said:
“Especially with cigars, it’s going to really cut sales. Customers can’t look at them, or smell the cigars. And with cigars, you have to be able to smell the aroma.”
Crazy stuff, crazy Canada.
I love the USA.
